Thousands of people helped fight heart disease and strokes by participating in the annual Jackson County Heart Walk at River Park in Pascagoula in May. These diseases are the No. 1 and No. 4 cause of death nationwide.

The Heart Walk not only raises awareness of heart disease, but also is a fundraising event for the American Heart Association. Overall, the Jackson County Heart Walk raised nearly $125,000 for the organization. The Chevron team raised over $2,500 for the 2016 Heartwalk.

Special thanks to Kathy Boyers (OE/PSM), Melanie Landsiedel (Procurement), Sandra Colville (M&R), Vicki Guy (Health Quest), Becky Burns (Health Quest), Brandon Gray (Finance), Vickie Garner (HES) and Christy Lambert (Finance) for being our Chevron Heart Walk captains for 2016, and to all of the refinery volunteers and family members who participated in this community event.
