Chevron Presents Scholarships to 14 MGCCC Jackson County Students

Chevron Pascagoula Refinery presented 14 scholarships worth more than $24,000 total to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) students enrolled in the Process Technology program this morning at the Gautier campus.

Cedric Bradley, MGCCC Dean of Instruction, provided a welcome and introductions. Pascagoula Refinery Operations Manager Bryon Stock presented the scholarships.

In 2006, Chevron Pascagoula Refinery and MGCCC partnered to bring the innovative Process Operations Technology program to the Gautier campus. The courses train students to work at the refinery and other plants across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. In 2011, MGCCC created the Maintenance Process Technologies program. This includes Instrument & Controls, Fabrication (Welding & Pipefitting) and Machinery (Precision Machinery & Millwright) programs.

Chevron has provided more than 75 scholarships to students in the Operations and Maintenance tracks since the inception of these programs.
