First Seafood Festival To Be Held in Ocean Springs

This weekend, Ocean Springs Seafood and Music Festival will be hosting their first ever event. 

The two-day festival will consist of competitions, cook-offs, live music and of course- seafood. It will be held Saturday, Oct 14, 4-10 pm and Sunday, Oct. 15, noon-10 p.m. and will take place in Pleasant’s BBQ parking lot on Government Street.

Guests are invited to come out and try your hand at the casting and cast net competition and win some amazing prizes. Listen to great live music, get some amazing fresh seafood dishes, and experience over 30 vendors.There will also be other food options for those who do not favor seafood.

Additional activities for the festival include: a rod and reel casting competition, blue crab race, hermit crab derby, inflatable kids amusements and much more.

The cook-off will take place on Sunday and consist of 15 chefs from all over the Coast who will be competing for the best seafood dish served at their booth. OS Mayor Shea Dobson, State Representative Hank Zuber, and Tim Bennett of Overtime Sports will be the featured judges for the competition. Over 200 people are expected to attend the event.  

The days and acts for the music lineup are as follows: 

Saturday, October 14th:

Johnny Fung Band 1-4
Low Down & Dirty 4pm – 7pm
Amanda Jones Band 7pm – 10pm

Sunday, October 15th:

Eddie Montoya Project 1pm – 3pm
Serabee 3pm – 6pm
The Jokers 6pm – 9pm
Mitch Stewart – All Day

There will be $5 to $15 entry fee and kids 12 and under get in free.
