It’s no secret that the new Mississippi Aquarium is a great addition to not only the Magnolia State but to the rest of the country, and that was recently recognized by USA Today.

In the publication’s Readers’ Choice Awards for 2020, the Mississippi Aquarium in Gulfport was ranked as the fourth-best new attraction in the United States.

“The new aquarium tells the story of aquatic life in Mississippi, from the eponymous river to the Delta to the Gulf of Mexico coastline,” the report read.

The only three attractions to rank higher were the United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum (Colorado Springs, CO), the St. Pete Pier (St. Petersburg, FL), and The Forge: Lemont Quarries (Lemont, IL). To view all 10 winners, click here.

The Mississippi Aquarium has been open since September 1, 2020. For reservations and events, visit them at msaquarium.org.
