Art certainly is everywhere in Mississippi, and that fact is made abundantly clear through the many beautiful and breathtaking public art that can be experienced through some of the most prominent art walks in the state.

The Lauren Rogers Museum and the city of Laurel are amid a celebration that has been a century in the making. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the world-class museum of art has been a cornerstone for Laurel and the state and has brought a collection of fine art and education together for the world to enjoy.

Karah Younger has always shown a talent for art. With encouragement from family and friends to practice her passion, she has gained experience over the years pursue her passions been interested in art. After starting on a few different education paths, she has finally found the one that best suits her background and career interests. She has also been able to pivot her craft during this difficult time to expand her style and commissions.

In celebration of the natural connection between birding and photography, the Pascagoula River Audubon Center will host the 2019 Audubon Photography Awards Traveling Exhibition at 5107 Arthur Street between January 8 and January 29. Visitors of all ages will enjoy a display of the winning photos as well as learn more about local birdlife in Moss Point. Reproductions of the winning photos will be available for sale.
