A Cajun`s Daily Dose of Nature - American White Waterlily is beautiful, especially when it occurs in large numbers, like this shallow, impounded swamp. Flowers have a sweet smell and along the plant’s seeds and rhizomes can be eaten raw or cooked. Native Americans used it for a variety of medicinal uses.

With white-sand beaches and beautiful Gulf waters, the islands are an ideal day trip to experience with family and friends. ☀️

A Cajun`s Daily Dose of Nature - Bagworms are the caterpillars of a family of moths. They feed on a variety of plants and use pieces of plants and other debris to cover their silk bag for protection. Adult females lack wings and mature in their bags, where males find them to mate. Eggs develop inside the females case.
